When we arrived at the Barcelona train station, we hopped into a taxi to our hotel, the Hotel Kimpton Vividora Barcelona, right in the Gothic Quarter. Since we were in a pedestrian zone, the taxi let us off about a 5-minute stroll from the hotel. It was a chill, flat walk from there. By the time we checked in, we were exhausted from our long day sightseeing in Madrid and the train ride, so we just chilled.
We had two full days in Barcelona before going home. One day was just for the kids, while the other day we explored the city’s rich history and artists. We can’t wait to come back—Barcelona is a great city, and we definitely needed more time to see everything!
Day #1 was awesome! We had a blast at a Gaudi mosaic class at Mosaicos—the kids totally loved it, and I had fun too. After that, we checked out the Big Fun Museum because my kid was super pumped when she spotted it on Google while helping me plan this trip. It was just an hour of fun and a quick stroll from the mosaic class. Then, we made our way to the Barcelona Interactive Spanish Cooking Experience for dinner, where we hit up the local market to grab some fresh seafood (vegetarian paella available as well) with a guide and cooked up a mouth-watering paella with a fantastic chef in a huge industrial kitchen, and of course, there was unlimited Sangria!

Day #2 was all about soaking in Barcelona! We hit up the Sagrada Familia and Park Guell to check out the awesome architecture and the colorful mosaics scattered around. We made a few fun pit stops too, like snapping pics by Gaudi’s lamppost, a visit to St Josep’s La Boqueria, grabbing coffee at Picasso’s go-to spot, and skipping the line to visit the extraordinary La Sagrada Familia.

The next day we were heading home via Paris/CDG on Air France business class. The service was great and the plane ride home was peaceful. I would highly recommend it. Tip: Bought the tickets on points, so if you play the credit card points game, Air France is one of the better redemption airlines I have found. Maybe you feel differently?
